///// It must be miles underground now. Endless lengths of concrete highway, nothing but well tunnel walls and empty echoes on the way down. You didn't see a single soul once on the whole trip.

This is PURGATORY, the life below the city. What happens in the liminality between one hell and the next. Dust drifters, derelict droids and deadhead dealers. Back alley doctors ready to splice your body with any upgrade you can dream of. Dark markets selling every type of circuit or transistor- for a price of course. This is where the outcasts have collected themselves, forgotten or discarded from the city above.

For some droids long out of production, this place is the last hope. When the battery finally gives way, what couldn't be sold from their body will be added to an infinite trash heap, full of half-breathing robots and dead parts. But most cyborgs and droids here aren't worried about when they will end up there, most are just looking for a cheap way to zap out and to short circuit themselves out of reality for a bit.

The rumor of what lies below is like a prophecy, a whispered prayer from a dying droid, or a righteous sermon from a maverick angel. Safety from Paragon is fleeting. The mirage of hope is a voice on the radio, calling out

from the next level down.
